On My Knees
I’m on my knees in my heart as I slowly make my wayÐ
Passing through this unknown land, where it’s even hard to pray!
Hard? O Lord, how can it be? When Thou hast been so good?
When Thou hast never failed me—each step along this road?
Never—ever—left me! And Thou canst never failÐ
Although my heart is breaking, I see along the trail:
Evidences of Thy love, Thy precious children’s care;
Showing me their deep concern, helping me to bear;
Praying for us, sharing, in this heart-rending trail...
Helping us, with hearts and hands, with every long, hard mile!
Lifting us, and buoying up our sagging, weary heart,
I thank Thee, Father, for them, as they’ve all had a part.
He and I have been one flesh since that glad wedding day,
And now, it seems, Thy holy will to take my Love away!
My heart would cry, “I can’t, Lord!” But Thy Word says, “I can!”
Thru’ Christ, my Lord, Who strengthens me by His almighty hand.
And so, each day, I’ll follow, Thy holy will to please.
I yield to Thee! And praise Thee!
In my heart—I’m on my knees!
