June 2017 - Jeffersontown Bible Church - Louisville KY

With joyful hearts and grateful spirits, the ministry family of Midwest Church Extension announces the graduation of Jeffersontown Bible Church. This event took place on June 4, 2017 in Louisville, KY with many guests joining in attendance with the local church body. The church is led by the pastoral team of Larry Duncan (wife Susan) and Kenn Chipchase (wife Elizabeth).

“Graduation Day” began with a fine selection of music and singing led by the church’s excellent worship team. Video greetings and congratulations from three men (MCE staffer Tim Jeske, from IFCA President Paul Seger, and IFCA Executive Director Les Lofquist) were displayed. MCE Executive Director Henry Vosburgh then had the honor of installing the church’s first elders, charging them to give themselves to the “good work” of spiritual leadership (1 Tim.3:1). After some more worship in music, Vosburgh then spoke on the subject “The Church – God’s Program for Today.” Pastor Duncan followed with a presentation about Vision, setting the work of JBC into a past, present, and future context. A letter from MCE Board Chairman Brian Miller was read to the congregation, and an MCE Graduation Certificate was then presented. The worship closed with a final song and prayer. A light luncheon wrapped up this wonderful Graduation Day at JBC.

November 2016 - Summit Bible Church - Summit IL

Summit Bible Church was initially started as a Sunday School ministry in the 1890s.  It was later organized as a Congregational church in 1917.  In 2004, there was a merger of Summit Bible Church and nearby Clearing Bible Church under the combined leadership of Pastors David Bauer and Lee Selin.

In January 2005, Pastor Bauer accepted the leadership position of Bible Related Ministries, and Pastor Selin was installed as the pastor of the merged ministry. In subsequent years, a series of circumstances brought the church into decline.  It was decided that the church needed outside assistance to rebuild its ministry.  In July 2009, Midwest Church Extension granted mission status to the church as part of its replanting ministry. The church has been under the auspices of MCE since that time. Pastor Selin was taken to glory as the result of a brain aneurism in ………..  MCE shepherded the church through a lengthy search for a new pastor.  One was found but he suffered an incapacitating aneurism a week before commencing his ministry.  In time, another pastor accepted the call but, at the last minute had to decline because of serious illness in the family.  In the Fall of 2016 Micah Windle began his ministry as pastor of Summit Bible Church
