Church
Planting

Enhancing the strength of the Church by equipping for, and encouraging toward, ministry partnerships geared toward the Great Commission activity of church planting

Church Planting & IFCA

IFCA International has a firm conviction that involvement in the Great Commission ministry of church planting must be an integral and indispensable element of legitimate local church ministry today. Our aim, therefore, is to cultivate church planting as a core ministry of IFCA International by appealing to and serving the fellowship through an approach that is broadly inclusive, educational, motivational, and full-service with respect to resources, information, and ministry.

What's the goal of church planting?

The goal of church planting is to establish a ministry center for the biblical fulfillment of the Great Commission. A new church is itself a result of Christian witness through evangelism and discipleship.

Who is a part of church planting?

Each church plant is different but many include the following individuals.

  • Plant Leadership: Pastor-Teacher / Team Members
  • Plant Households: Families that comprise the new church.
  • Plant Sponsors: Parenting Church(es) / Sponsoring Organizations / Informal Vision Team
  • Plant Contributor: Financial Contributors / Specialized Ministry Providers / Missionary Field Workers
Who leads a church planting effort?

Within a specific target community, church plant leadership preferably consists of a ministry team with clearly defined roles delegated to its members. More often, however, leadership consists of a qualified founding individual accompanied by a supporting leadership committee.

How can you help plant a church?

Church plants need a support network of fellow-helpers committed to the success of the effort. Anyone can help a church plant in any or all of these ways:

  • Regular and frequent prayer
  • Financial contributions
  • Personalized ministry
  • Enlisting others to expand the network
Are there grants to help church planters?

Church planting is difficult. IFCA International provides the R. Sprague grant to support like-minded churches as they look to launch new church plants.
