Roy and Elvia Sprague

Church Planting Grant

Providing a way for the entire fellowship of IFCA International to participate in starting new IFCA churches

Building the Future of IFCA:
One Month, Many Churches

The Roy & Elvia Sprague Church Planting Grant is on a mission: to advance the cause of Christ by empowering new churches through the cooperative strength of the IFCA network. These grants are available to eligible IFCA churches that are two years or newer, as well as to new projects sponsored by IFCA organizations—whether a local church, a network of churches, a church planting agency, or an IFCA regional body. In 2025 alone, the Sprague Grant helped launch new ministries with $17,000 in funding.

May 2026: Your Chance to Make an Impact.
This May, the IFCA Church Planting Commission invites every church member to invest in the future of our movement. Imagine the difference if every person attending an IFCA church gave just $1—the Sprague Grant could grow by $20,000–$25,000 annually, fueling even more new church plants. One month to invest. Many churches to build.
Join us in shaping the next chapter of IFCA church planting.

Portrait of Roy & Elvia Sprague

Roy and Elvia Sprague: A Lifetime of Service

Dr. Roy Sprague and his wife Elvia have served with Northwest Independent Church Extension (NICE) since 1960. For sixty-four years and counting they have been model Christian servants throughout that entire time. The Sprague ministry resume is very impressive. Roy pastored two churches in the 1950s and then served 10 years as staff evangelists for NICE during the 1960s. Then in 1970, he was appointed as the director of NICE and he led that agency for the next 30 years.

In total, Roy has been involved in planting and establishing 104 churches over the last sixty-plus years, and he remains active in ministry even today. In light of this amazing track record of ministry, the Church Planting Commission has decided that this new church planting grant be named in their honor.
